DRIM’s Winning Strategy for Domino’s and McDonald's
IDA 2025 awards had 50+ categories and received 700+ nominations. With over 40+ jury members analyzing every entry and over 1400+ attendees, DRIM won awards in two categories which are:
- Gold for Domino’s Pizza in the Product Launch Campaign Category
- Silver for McDonald’s in the Best Use of Native Advertising Category
Now, let us quickly peep into the strategies adopted by DRIM for these.
Domino’s Campaign for Success
Intense competition, market saturation, and customer retention were not just a challenge but a big problem for Domino’s. Even with 2000 stores in India, it faced issues as customers preferred online discounts and offers with aggregators.
When presented with this, we at DRIM designed a campaign that aimed to:
- Increase direct orders and walk-ins
- New product launch
- Repositioning the brand for the new generation
This was just the start of a winning campaign that used advanced techniques like AI and ML to predict the best influencers for them. We started with 107 influencers who matched Domino’s genre, target audience, and intent. Focusing on the omni-channel, we involved more than 150 stores in the campaign.
Using impactful triggers and drool-worthy content helped us to go viral while addressing price-sensitive customers. Additionally, the vernacular approach helped to offer a personal touch.
The Domino’s Campaign results were just mind-blowing:
- A total of 134 publications were done.
- 107 influencers worked in the campaign.
- The average reach gained is 70 Mn.
- Overall views reached 68.91 Mn.
- 15 videos gained 1 Mn+ views.
McDonald’s Campaign for Success
McDonald’s uses influencer marketing quite prominently and gains around 16% of its direct orders from this channel only. While this is true, some issues were still faced regarding expansion and growth.
Since it is in a competitive sector, scaling was difficult as most customers preferred attractive discounts offered on aggregator platforms. Hence, this helped DRIM to reach its ultimate goal for the campaign, which was:
- Increase new direct orders
- Building a strong brand: imagine South India
- Track performance and measure the effectiveness of influencer marketing
Based on this, we launched a cost-per-order model that used promo codes. This ensured fair pay for both the influencer and the brand. Using our advanced ML model, we evaluated 48K influencers, of which 115 were finally approved based on their genre and sync with the brand.
Our influencer managers trained the influencers and focused on building trigger engagements. The idea was to create content in regional languages and focus on promoting the idea of budget-friendly meals.
The final result of McDonald’s Campaign was:
- 115 influencers participated in the campaign.
- 1000+ publications were done.
- A total of 46.9 Mn+ views were gained.
- The top influencers' engagement rate was 8.32%.
- 19% of new direct orders were received.
- 12 videos accounted for approximately 50% of the results
